Is it true, Tamil Christians and Tamil Muslims never do House warming function using Sanskrit mantras/shlokas and also for marriage events? And is it true, Aaseevagam was the way of life for ancient Tamils?

  1. Tamil Hindus do House warming function using Sanskrit or Tamil mantras/shlokas and also for marriage events. In ancient times, particulary after Kalappirayar rule in medieval period, region north of kaveri preferred sanskrit (vadakalai), whereas south of kaveri preferred tamil (thenkalai)
  2. Tamil Christians (in Kanyakumari and Thooththukkudi districts) do House warming function and marriage events as per European testaments, holy texts and rituals.
  3. Tamil Muslims (ravuththars and marakkayars) do House warming function and marriage events as per their Arabian holy texts.
  4. Aaseevagam was the way of life for ancient Biharis who followed Makkali Gosla. During Kalappirayar rule, Biharis /Bengalis who propogated Shramanic religions, couped southern Kingdoms, migrated to Tamil and Sinhala country - still descendants of Bihari/ Bengali migrants practice Aseevagam in Tamil Nadu, Buddhism in Sri Lanka. Aseevagam imposed Pali Prakriti over Sanskrit in North and Tamil in South.
  5. In 15th century, efforts were taken to spread Tamil Murugan Worship to Buddhist Nations in South East Asian countries by Mystic Arunagiri Nathar of Tiruvannamalai under Emperor Prauda Devaraya II. It failed to sustain due to weak successors of the emperor. Revived by Kumara Krishnappa Naicker in 16th century but failed again. Example: Katharagama, Betu.

In South India, we call Jainism as Jainism and Buddhism as Buddhism only, and we don't regard Aaseevagam as Jainism or Buddhism.

Aaseevagam is a Tamil word, and it's not a word from Biharis or Bengalis immigrants.

The Kalabhra dynasty, also called Kalabrar, Kalappirar, Kallupura or Kalvar ruled south India sometime between 3rd century and 6th century CE. And they're not behind the ancient religion of South India - Aaseevagam.

Jainism, Buddhism and Ajvika are contemporary Shramanic religions.

Ajvika in Tamil is Aseevagam, in English it is Fatalism.

The founder is Makkali Goshala.

On the rat race to Thirthankara, Vardhman Mahavira, a Chemist is preferred over Makkali Goshala, a metallurgist. He started his own religion.

Ellam Vidhippadi Than Nadakkum- Aseevagam.

Unfortunately, some Tamil Pandits, without any research cooked this for obtaining their PhD and increment are responsible for propagating this myth. There is no base.

I will write an answer regarding Needhi Kolgai of Aaseevagam.

Misunderstanding, Misinterpretation, Misinformation etc. had greatly mislead south Indians for centuries…that is still not yet resolved by anyone.

Mohan N R's answer to What is Ajivik or ஆசீவகம் in Tamil? Did such a belief exist? Need an impartial answer.

If you are already believer of Aseevagam, ignore these, and follow it with great faith.
