What is the greatest one, Vaishnavism or Buddhism?

Whichever faith you follow is the greatest one, the world should follow.

Vaishnavism is a sect in Hinduism whereas Buddhism is a Shramanic religion.

It is like comparing

  1. Pineapple with Coconut.
  2. Ceylon with India
  3. Small well with an ocean

Vaishnavism is a sect in Hinduism alongwith many like Saivism,Sakthas etc etc. and many sects within each.

Whereas Buddhism comes under Shramanic religions. It is logical to compare with other Shramanic religions.

Shramanic Religions: There are various classifications:

Some say 6, based on Philosophy and contemporaneous ascetics of Gautama.

Some include 84 Siddhas from Nath Tradition, (which includes 18 Tamil Siddhas) and making it 90.

In six who are contemporaneous to Buddha are:

1.Buddha is a mystic who taught as void.(Buddhism)

2.Mahavir is a mystic chemist who taught as restraint. (Jainism)

3.Makkali Gosala is a mystic alchemist(metallurgist ) who taught as fatalism.(Ajivika)

4.Purana Kassappa is an ascetic who taught as non action(Akiriyavada)

5.Ajita Kesakamabali is an ascetic who advised as to live happily (Charvaka)

6.Sanjaya Belathiputta taught as suspension of judgement (Ajnana)

There were several mystics (over 84 Maha Siddhas) in our holy land before and after Buddha, Mahavira, Gosalas, Kassappas, Ajitas and Sanjayas. These mystics contributed much in philosophy, medicine, metullergy and performed miracles.

Some worshipped Shiv, some Sakthi, some Perumal, some Murugan. After Buddhism and Jainism, some created the left hand sects within Buddhism and Jainism

In a nutshell, Void and Non Greediness make it uniqueness of Buddhism with the rest.

Were many Buddhist temples converted into Hindu temples in India?

Buddhism is a great religion to follow. Those who follow Buddhism, never believe in idol worship and greedy for other properties.

Unfortunately, religion used politics and politics used religion for their own benefits.

The monks who followed Shramanic religions in their later period used their imagination to create own sects within these religions. Many Pants taken their imagination upto Adhi Bagawan.

They are not nastiks like Shramanic founders and copied rituals of religions who use idol worship.

In the History, 2nd century onwards, following religions was a fashion- like wearing and throwing cloths.

Is Chandra Gupta Maurya, a Jain?

Is Bindusara, an Ajvika or a follower of Brahmanism?

Is Ashoka, who blinded his own son, a Buddhist?

Is Dasrath, a care taker, an Ajvika?

Is Samprati, a Jain? How can a person who ruled for 8 years can construct 175000 temples?

All these low class politicians, or you may say high class emperors made mockery of the people they ruled and people were converted according to the kings whims otherwise they will be executed.

Where Buddhist temples converting into Hindu temples in the entire scheme of things?

Buddhism is a good religion to follow if one follows in true spirit- but the history of kings ruled made its worst.

If we think Tamil Kingdoms provided long strong and stable rules through out the history - it is written in bold everywhere, the period between 3rd-7th century is the darkest period of our History. They do not know from where they came and what language they spoke?
