Why did no major remains of the Vijayanagara Empire survive into the modern era except for the ruins of Hampi?

Organizations or Empire like humans have birth and death. But institutions or temples will never die.

In the world today, there are huge temples better than seven wonders of the world, were only found in South of Vindhyas - from Kailasanathar temples in Maharashtra to Nava Kailasams or Nava Tirupatis in the South built by emperors from 7th century- in rock cut of Chalukya/ Pallava style or using Tamil architect in dravidian style.

In that spectrum of towering temples, Vijayanagara Empire and its feudatories left a lasting impression of constructing new temples or reconstructing the destroyed temples by invaders from 14th century. Hinduism found new peak from 14th till 18th century in South while North was bambarded by islamic invasions. Vijayanagara empire have also built economic model around the temple to self sustain throughout the centuries through endowents.

Hampi might have destroyed, but Tirumala to Srivilliputtur temple towers sing the glory of Vijayanagara Empire and their feaudatories, Naicker Kingdoms.
