You asked three questions. So I have given the answer in three parts.

At the end I listed few Telugu Kingdoms of Tamil Countries.

Was there any Telugu Kingdom in the past?

It is difficult to distinguish Telugu and Karnataka Empires, as the regions are inclusive of both.

The chronological order:

  1. Andhras or Satavahanas (?): 200BCE-200CE
  2. Andhra Ishvakus or Ishvakus of Vijayapur.
  3. Pallavas: 4th - 9th Century, extended their rule from Southern Andhra to Northern TN.
  4. Vishnukundina Dynasty:
  5. Eastern Chalukyas: Rajaraja Narendra was the most powerful King.
  6. Chalukya Chozhas: Kulottunga I
  7. Kakatiyas: 12th- 14th Century : Ganapati Deva was the first ruler who United Telugu Lands (Kakatiya Dynasty Perished alongwith the Longest ruling Dynasty of the South - Pandyas, 4th century BCE-14th century CE, 1800 years, Hoysalas, Yadavas in 14th century)

Pallavas was indeed one of the Tamil Kingdoms.

Pallavas: 4th - 9th Century, extended their rule from Southern Andhra to Northern TN. They were earlier subordinates to Satavahanas.

Telugu Kingdoms:

Telugu Warriors of Southern Peninsula are many, called Naickers, established Kingdoms/ Polypats in present boundaries of TN, Andhra and Karnataka.

Few Telugu Kingdoms in Tamil Countries are

*Madurai Naicker Kingdom (with Trichy and Madurai as capitals)

*Tanjavur Naicker Kingdom

*Chenji Naicker Kingdom

Few Telugu Mannariya Polypats of erstwhile Vijayanagara Chieftons after 1642(out of over 72 Polypats) within Madurai Naicker Kingdom and later downgraded to Kattukkuththagai Zamins by British:

1. Ravilla kings from 1600 AD to 1950 AD: Chieftains in Madurai Naicker kingdom. They played important role in wars and Governors of Northern Malabar. They ruled Ilayarasanendal in Thooththukkudi District.

2. Pemmasani kings from 1650 AD to 1950 AD: Chieftains in Madurai Naicker kingdom. They played important role in battles. They ruled Kuruvikulam area in Tenkasi District.

3. Bellam kings from 1600 AD to 1950 AD: Chieftains in Vijayanagara Empire. They are close friends to Madurai Naickers. They ruled Sevalpatti area in Virudhunagar District. At the beginning they ruled large areas.

4. Golla kings: They ruled Ninynandal, Thiruvathuru areas in Ramanadapuram.

5. Pemmasani kings from 1600 AD to 1950 AD: Ruled Nikarpatti in Madurai Dindigul Dist.
