Why must Indian temples be freed from government control?

 Sharad Gupta

You heard it wrong.

You are asking a question whether our Hon PM Narendra Modi and UK CM Rawat are wrong.

Role Model:

TN is the model State. They are ahead of times. Whatever TN Government followed in Primary Health, PDS etc are being implemented in other states decades after for their betterment of their state. TN is Role Model.

Governing Temples are no exception:

Impressed by TN temples, recently BJP Government in Uttarakhand on the advise of our PM took Government control of major 51 Shrines last week, which include Badri, Kedar and many, despite the protest from VHP. As usual Tamil Nadu sets an example for other states to follow.

Our PM Narendra Modi is the first one to pick up good governance from other states. When he was CM of Gujarat in 2012, he implemented the Government Control of Temples, including Somnath, Ambaji, Dwaraka etc..which were under trusts.

1.Not only, that Private sects like BAPS, Iskcon, Nithyananda and Isha are flooded with scandals of amazing money and sexual abuse.

2.It is not possible to trust mortal Swamis of bad reputation. They will die one day. Whether they take the treasures of their sect to the otherworld is not known, but few of their disciples take away the treasures and vanish after their death.

3.Even some Swamis when they are alive, accumalate INR and use the money to buy Islands in other continents or use to buy vast stretches of land, costly cars, private jets in American continent. Finally your descendants will be buying dollars at 300Rs (74Rs now) in near future.

4.Government is represented by all public. Only Government can be trusted and if there is a need administration need to be strengthened with the suggestions from various stakeholders of society.

5. If it is given to the private / devotees? Examples: After the death of Swami, selected Bengali elites enjoy the luxury in ISKCON, selected South Indian elites enjoy Puttaparthi assets, selected Gujarati Swamis enjoy BAPS- they set the rules, women are discriminated.

6.Since its inception, Temples are with rulers and will remain with the Government.

7.It is better, Government to take over the assets of Sansthas after the founder dies, otherwise it will be misused like what's happening now. Even these sansthas go one step further and claim they are not Hindus.
