There is nothing great in it.
At the ground level, is there any distinction/prohibition of one, visiting other religious places?
In TN, one cannot distinguish Christians going inside the temple- but non-Hindus visiting temples are common.
Many of my friends visited temples, had prasadams. Though they do not put Vibhuti or Kumkum on their forehead.
I do visit RC Churches, Masjits, Jain temples.
Not only in South.
I recall an incident, I visited a Juma Masjid, alongwith my family members, including women. There was a board inside, mentioning beyond that females are not allowed and we are hesitant. Seeing that one elder came, welcomed us, took us inside and explained.
Common Indian is a crypto- visiting other religious places is common. Yes. They do believe.
