Is the imposition of Sanskrit on the future kids of India a good thing?

I do not think, Sanskrit is being imposed on yougsters.

But Sankrit has creative literature of its kind, there are professions and there are many scholars who have been keeping it alive.

Whether one accept it or not, Sanskrit created a cultural bond across the subcontinent and in future it will continue to do so.

It connected scholars, particularly its elite scholors, from distant parts of the Indian subcontinent, from Kanyakumari in Tamil Nadu to LOC in Kashmir and beyond.

We have classical languages, developed in Northern Himalayas and Southern Peninsula and Governments time to time, encourage their usage. None of them are with success.

There are histories,

1.Sanskrit was made one of the official languages in Uttarakhand - nearing a decade, majority still speaks Kumaoni, Garhwari. They understand the first language spoken by others. Sankrit? Dev bhoomi does not know.

2.Tamil was made one of the official languages in Haryana. Lot of resources have been deployed to promote Tamil as a second official language of Haryana by the Government over 40 years. Finally it is withdrawn recently.

In a market driven economy, demand only determines language.

There are volunteers of classical languages who add value addition. Example: There are many Tamil Scholars made their life meaningful on their own with Tirukkural or Sangam literature.

Even before Hindi, English- even before motorised car, rail, flight - South Indians used to go pilgrimage (by walk? Or by other ride?) to Kasi or Varanasi and North Indians did visit Rameswaram.

How they managed languages during their pilgrimage well, is a topic to be researched before imposing any language, including Hindi. Yes Hindi.
